    Places to eat on the west end

    Me and the miss will be spending our 5 yr wedding anniversary down there camping at the old KOA camp and looking for good seafood place to take her. What ya recommend? Does not have to be fancy just good eats.

    When will you be there? The wife and I are staying in Jamaica Beach for a week in a couple of weeks. We are wondering where the good eats are too.

          West End Restaurant and Sand Bar at the Sea Ilse Marina. You should call well ahead, cause they fill up quickly.

              I know the weather turning cold later this week but hopefully I can find a place down there to wet a hook, not gonna take my big boat ,going to take the kayak and try to sneak off before she wakes up in the morning.

                  red Snapper Inn and the West End Restaurant (and Sand Bar-restaurant is upstairs) are both good-I would hit both if I were you. Nates is good for lunch and so is the Sand Bar-good burgers. I would not try the Blue Water Grill in Jamaica Beach-their pizzas IMO are terrible, but burger is OK.

                      Sand Bar's burgers are really good and Nates and West End Restaurant have good seafood. I used to like Blue Water Grill but recently it's been questionable. Used to have some killer greasy burgers but it all kinda went downhill. Has some very uhh unreliable service there as well right now.

                        If you don't want to cross the toll bridge, I've had some killer burgers at Hammerheads in Surfside. But the juke box there is just plain aweful. I've heard some pretty awesome reviews of the food at Pier 30 (Beer 30) just over the Surfside intracoastal bridge. There's also Kitty's Purple Cow in Surfside. I ate there before Ike and it was awesome. I went after Ike, and things were not as good. Haven't been back in over 2 years. Might be worth a try.

                          Waterman's at Pirate's has some great food. Eaten downstairs a few times now, and have not been disappointed. Miss Kitty's Purple cow is a staple.

                            Shrimp n' Stuff food truck in the car wash parking lot in Jamaica Beach. Great shrimp tacos, etc. Weekends only now I think.....

                              There's also Cafe Michael Burger. Good burgers with a view of the antics of Hells Angels wannabes at Woody's.
