Best handheld GPS for the money?

Whos using GPS for plotting their fishing days or just plotting holes in general?
are you using an app or a hand held?
any insight on which one works best for what we do? Garmin has a pretty nice one that is water proof but the screen is only 3" ..... I'm not old but I wanna save my eyesight for when I really need it

ive got a garmin oregon 550 touch screen that i like a lot.
upsides: deadly accurate, light, fairly reasonably priced, touch screen
downsides: screen is a bit small and hard to see in bright sunlight

i havent used it for fishing cause i have one mounted on the boat but we use it a lot for geocaching and it works like a champ.

iphone has about 30 foot accuracy.. not so good .. for fishing.. unless marking spots.. If that is all you have then . the app motionx-gps is a good app, I like the ability to show trails and it uploads to your email and goog earth if you want. . I use it on bike trails often.

i've had a gamrin GPS 76 for years and it's been great. The newer versions are either the 72 or 78 but i'm not up to date on their specs.

thanks for all of the input guys....Ibtsoom, I was looking at the Oregon last night....but all the reviews I read said stay away from touchscreen unless you enter a lot of text because it kills the battery....

Garmin 78 or Montana. Also pay attention to the preloaded maps. If the unit comes with just a base map you will need to buy an additional chart to actually see anything. Look into a unit which has Garmin BlueChart included, it will save you time and money. For what it costs if you want one for the boat, a standard GPS/fish finder is usually a better value, but not as portable which is why you are probably looking into a handheld.

I'm not up to snuff on all the newer units from Garmin, so i can't comment, but i do have a Garmin 60CSX that i use almost daily for my work. I recommend it highly.

I have had a 60CSX for years and it is great. I bought the detailed contour maps for the US and he trail maps are very accurate. I use it most in Colorado fly fishing but I usually have it in the kayak in case I get lost in the marsh.

You can pick up a used Garmin 60CSX on eBay for around $200 or a new one from Amazon for $650.
