  • Urgent Gas Tank Vent Help please

The vent line that goes to the vent on the console from my gas tank is kinked very badly. Whenever I unscrew the gas cap now it hisses. I am needing an urgent fix for this weekend... Can I just cut the line before the kink for this weekend and eventually replace the line? Would this cause any problems?

Check that where you cut the line is well above the top of the gas tank (and not flopping around), so gas cannot leak out and drip or stream against something (and start a fire).

Another safer fix is to leave the tank cap screwed on, but not tightly, to allow some air flow into the tank.

Ya'll need to do a proper fix pretty quick.

That's what I was thinking. I'll just run it this weekend and then fix it up. I'll crack the gas cap like you suggested. Haha it took about 15 minutes to get 10 gallons in it.

I've had that problem, but not on a boat.

He had that problem with his arse. LOL!

Yep, just unscraw the cap a leetle bit. Check it every once in a while. Don't cut the vent until you're ready to replace. Funny how many little things can go wrong on a boat.
