  • Night Fishing Recommendation

    Howdy,

Question for the kayak/boating vets: We're taking a family vacation on 4/25 - 4/28 to GI. I plan on fishing my butt off as much as humanly possible while we're there (well, as much as the Mrs. will allow). I also want to do some night fishing off the kayaks, but I wanted to ask a good place to go this time of year. I've fished the lights at Sea Isle before, but it's pretty hit or miss on what lights are on IMO. I've done the Causeway a few times, but it's pretty rough going down there on the yaks and I've never had much luck. I've always heard that Tiki Island had a bunch of lights, but I've never tried it. Any suggestions on where to try? Do people even have their lights on this time of year? Thanks!

I don't know about the water temps and whatnot that makes the fish come around but I've had awesome luck in the lights at Tiki. Free lined shrimp on the outside on the light. I have a favorite light that hasn't let me down yet. It's a long paddle. Basically the opposite side of tiki vs fat boys if that makes any sense. PM me if you go and I'll do my best to give you directions. Never had enough luck on the bay side to warrant dealing with the chop. Sneak up on the lights and if there's fish about you'll see them.
When I grow up I want to be, One of the harvesters of the sea. I think before my days are done, I want to be a fisherman.
