I was the only boat out has far in either direction I could see. I had just staked out and was about to wade when this boat made the now familiar fast arcing approach. It was middle aged square headed warden and a young, under 30 looking woman. He was polite, checked for PFD's,my extinguisher (borderline), and my coolers. We talked for a minute or two and he was off. I've been fishing West Bay 40 years+ and only was checked a couple of times. Now it's twice in two weeks. I asked about that and he said they were stepping up enforcement in West Bay....I guess especially for spring break

Glad to have them to keep the riff raft in order and yes the dike is the Mecca for wardens which doesn't surprise me the least bit.

Started fish west bay area in 76 and currently Im on my 3 bayhouse. Never been checked, I have seen wardens out in the area but checking duck hunters most of the time. Sounds as if things my be changing.Comment
