It was pretty cool sitting in my rockin' chair on the front porch here at BR's. I could see the dark gray line approaching like a conquering army. It came slow and steady. There was no pause in the wind like you sometimes get with fronts. The wind went from a steady south at 10 to a biting 30 north. I waited a few seconds too long to get inside and darn near lost the screen door. The place was rockin' and rollin for about 20 minutes. Things are lightening up and settling down out there, but we're still getting occasional gusts to, I'd say about 35. The new roof is GREAT! No more shingles flying and hearing that constant flutter. I just hope it settles down enough for me to cook some crawfish today.

That was some quick change! I was wading with Harvey, Termo, fp10, oleander kayaker, a and Eddie. Mark and I decided to call it quits & headed back to the car. By the time we got back to his house at palm beach it hit! The other guys made it back to their trucks when it hit. Good timing all the way around!"Curmudgeon only pawn in game of life."

Plenty of water. Tide should be incoming shortly. Had LOTS of water last night. It was all under the camp. It should be squirting out of the Pass tonight and tomorrow. What usually happens is it stacks up here before it can gush out.
Monte, it somewhat resembled the situation we experienced a couple, or was it a few, years ago. Hard to believe it's been that long ago. But the aftermath isn't anything like what that was. Heck, it's clear and nice out on the porch now. Wind is NNE at about 15 now. More than tolerable. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook.
