  • Is it still duck season?

I keep hearing shots, 3 at a time from the direction of Christmas Bay. Is it still duck season? I thunk it was over. Could be someone just popping off rounds, but it sounds like a shotgun and it's in groups of 3.

No its closed. Its conservation goose season. And your allowed to take out your plug to shoot five shells. So its a complete moron shooting redheads still. Call the game warden for sure.

They are far away and I have no idea what they're shooting. I think I'd have a pretty tough time calling gamethief if I didn't see them doing something wrong. Haven't heard any shots in over 30 minutes.

Well, if its in the xmas bay direction and your hearing them in 3 shot intervals its morons still duck hunting. Ive seen it before out there and they were bragging to me how they were hammering them. Looked in the back of their truck they had about 20 redheads and it was only two guys there, a week after season closed. I laughed, drove away calling the game warden with the license plate number written on my hand.

Sometimes, a it is a distress signal if in groups of three, kinda hard to tell in the bay, though...

When I picked up at Ernie's there was only one car there and it was a wader. I'm guessing if they were poachers, they launched somewhere further away. After the wind changed, I heard some single shots, but from the northwest. There were enough boats out today that anyone in distress would have been rescued.
