Call around to local animal shelters. Seriously. There are a lot of great dogs out there that don't have homes. My family has gotten all but one of our dogs in my 39 years from shelters. Pure bred beagles, bassets, golden retrievers, and more than a few mutts. The only one that had terrible health problems was from a "reputable breeder", not a shelter. I'd be willing to bet you could find a great yellow lab without having to pay anything but an adoption fee.

        Thanks Coachlaw
The last few dogs over the years have come from animal rescue and adoption places , this time I may be in a little more of a hurry. My four year daughter lost her best friend, Dixie, due to an accident. She has been calling for her since. This dog was so patient and tolerant of her ways of playing. I am looking for a dog of this good nature and similar breed to replace her friend.

There ya go Jerry. Go find a good one and then take her to the pound with you. You're bound to find a new friend.

I got a started lab I will sell for 2500.00 if my son will let me un *** him, but I doubt it.

Go get you a pup and let it grow up with you guys. I got mine about 8 months ago and he is a blessing but I ma def glad he lives in a concrete kennel when I am not home. No matter what people tell you do not give him/her chew toys if you are going to hunt with him.

If family pet then doesn't matter.

Let us see the pics when you get him/her.

Call me an old softie, but I don't think there's anything in this world as cute as the smile a puppy brings to a little girl's face. That's pure joy right there. Wish we could bottle it.
