  • Anyone know a good rod builder?

My school does a junior ring ceremony every year in april and we dont have to receive a "ring", it can be anything. So I have asked for a custom rod and I need to find a builder. I thought about Laguna custom rods, but they are a little too much. So does anyone know a good rod builder that makes a good custom spinning rod? I fish primarily from piers and at seawolf so I need a 8 to 9 footer. Two piece is prefer because of my vehicle.

    Thanks patrick

I hear sarge customs are pretty good... also, the woodee rods were originally customs.

How about Shoal Patrol. He donated a rod at the last tourney that was AWESOME!

It needs to be spinning and most places seem to only be casting. Lure weight 1-4 oz would be ideal

The rod Shoal Patrol donated at the weigh in was a spinning rod. I'm a spin only kind of a guy, and it was awesome!

I fished with a guide out of Lake Calcasieu, Capt. Chris Bruno. Very nice guy and knew his stuff. He was using a sarge rod and I couldn't believe how well made and light they were. Contact is sargecustomrods.com. A little pricey, but probably a rod you'll have forever. If you do buy one, mention Chris Bruno, (He couldn't have been a nicer guy)
