  • West Bay trip 8/9/09

Here this weekend fishing report. Friday 8/7/09 went to surfside beach with Dbarham met Sneaky Pete,Danny D and Gilbert. We caught only a few keepers, surf was borderline fishable. Nice to meet Gilbert great guy. Me and barham had to split around 10am. I think the fishing was getting better later. Saturday ,Me and my newphew went to meet sneaky pete same spot in the surf. Surf was blown out when we arrived. Sneaky Pete had split before dark due to conditions. My newphew and I went to the green house on the south shoreline and waded in. A few nibbles no fish. Went to TC and bought 35# of shrimp. We returned home and chilled. Sunday Sneaky Pete took me, my newphew and a friend of mine out for a day of fishing. We hit south shore line. Before we set out I rigged up my friend with a bone skitterwalk. He was the first to catch some dinks . First time wader!! beautiful sunrise and no one in sight. We fished 6 spots fished from 5:30am till 4:00pm and caught 20 reds and around 12-14 trout. All right under the limit but only 5 keepers. Caught fish at every stop. My nephew got some video of us landing a 25 inch red. The best part was when we went to the spoil banks and sneaky pete was on em and I would cast ten feet from my friend and nephew and catch redfish. When they asked what are you guys using. Sneaky Pete said same thing we told you to use!!!! Any way My friend caught the big fish and my nephew pulled in 2 trout which is a big deal for a 12 yrs old. My nephew wanted to keep fishing. How many 12yr olds you know can hang that long.
Thanks Sneaky we gottem hooked now.

Thanks flatout. They had a blast and we wore my friend out. My newphew wanted to keep fishing!!. I cant wait till he gets on a mess of trout or a big red. He is hooked. I will put him up against anyone for tenacity. Oh by the way his favorite lure is a rootbeer devil eye!! No joke he is a beliver in that lure. He caught his first trout on one. Thanks for turning me on to that lure. Been thru five bags this summer.

Sounds like a great weekend fishing, glad you got your nephew caught some fish. You would be suprised at how long 12 year olds can hang, most I've seen love fishing so much once they start, they can go 7x24 fishing. Don't wait too long to get him out again soon.

Great day with friends and family-way to go Corndog!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Bounty its easier to take him than to listen to him bug me or belly ache about not getting to go!! Thanks to all for the post.
