  • Ramp at SLP county park closed until March 15th effective immediately.

I sure wish they could have put up a notice. This scraws with our plans to put on a new roof at BR's on the 9th. They're finally dredging it out. That is good. The timing is rough on us though.

Just put in down at Siedler's(aka old Ernie's) ramp. Adds maybe 5-10 minutes to the boat ride.
Just be careful when running the channel down to Churchill Bayou.

It adds a lot more to the boat ride when you're towing a pontoon full of metal roofing.

I say we just go ahead and deal with the longer boat ride....Greg is usually very busy.

Hey Sandman, when you going out? I may just put the boat in for a little while tomorrow and slide out for a bit since the fishing is slow. You got my number, give me a shout and if I make it out there, your place will be my first stop!
Hold my beer and watch this!!

I usually head out on Friday nights, but I don't want to have to navigate from Ernie's in the dark. I'll head out there Saturday. If you are coming, let me know ahead of time. I've got a stack of football coaching books I've been saving for you for a year and a half.

Well, well, well. So I launch out of Ernie's this morning and when I pass by the SLP park, I see a parking lot full and 2 boats coming out. Talk about PIZZED. They've marked the channel and have signs up at the mouth saying the ramp is closed . . . . but it's obviously open. Going over there shortly for the skinny.

BTW, From Ernie's it does get crazy skinny halfway to Churchill I hit .8 feet under the keel and had to lift the motor. If we get a hard North wind, I'm thinking it might be worse than the County Park was.
