weird jig heads

ok i fished some round headed jig heads that i had never saw b4 when i was in louisiana and lost a 25+ trout right by the boat. a nice red soon as i hooked up. and my dad and the guide also lost about 5 fish a piece so it was a total of fifteen lost fish and we landed around 15- 20. so pretty much we lost half of our fish. then today i tried them at texas a&m and lost the only good fish of the day. a red almost bigger than the slot limit. lost a half dozen of dink trout but they were going to be released anyway so i didnt care about them to much. and yes i was fighting them with the rod tip up and fairly lose drag.from know on always use jig heads that u are familiar with. these round ones cost me a personal best on plastic.
