X2 Just wash it well after every trip and you will be just fine. i have a brotherinlaw that has been using his in the bayou for years. No problems more than the rest of us.Originally posted by D-I-A View PostI would run it on west bay, west bay isn't any where near the size of the Great Lakes and they run bass boats up there. Just give the boat a good cleaning after each use.

Once you go saltwater, it's a one way trip. The value of your rig will decrease significantly. Just think if you were back inland, and looking at a used boat that you know had been run in the salt?
I think as long as you are prepared to replace just about everything eventually, there isn't a problem with running out there. Certainly not a safety issue, there are several lakes in the SE that can get hairier quicker than the bay does.

wash as well depending on what brand it is will determine how long it will last. They all fall in the end with most problems with axles and wheel bearing.I've seen some people with bass boats at the end of the jetties.Originally posted by Team Reel Pimp View PostWhat about the trailer?I LIVE IN A SMALL

If not aluminum or galvanized, it will rust out darn quick. You'd almost have to use a rinse made especially to de-salt the trailer.
I have a buddy that did about 2 bay trips in his bass boat (champion or Ranger) and all his wiring started acting up-the connections and such aint made for saltwater. I would not recommend it."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
