Do I think he belongs up there with Big Manning, Rodgers, or that sissy with New England I hate so much because he looks like a sissy but he's so good? I don't even thing Drew Brees was ELITE this season. Little Manning has 2 Superbowl rings, but he's not in that category.

Any way you cut it, the offense yesterday scored enough points for this team to win. The defense is where the blame lies. The loss of Cushing and the eventual uncovering of weak areas by lesser teams than New England came together to make this an impossible to win game.

Any way you cut it, 28 points should be enough to win a game. Defense wins championships. 42 points given up and y'all are blaming Schaub? That's silly.
SupewrBowl capable QB??? NOWAY!! One thing is for sure though, just like the Tootsie Roll Pop question " THE WORLD WILL NEVER KNOW" Schaub is a good back up at best....

come on coach. Accurate passer? doesn't make mistakes? He was the worst QB in the playoffs. Did you see his self fumble/sac? How about over throwing wide open receivers? What about throwing out of bounds running scared when there wasn't anybody close enough to tackle you. Squab is not going to get to the Superbowl as a starting QB in this league. He plays like a sissy. You can see the fear in his face when he takes the field. What you saw on defense is Wade Phillips. He sucks. He did not do his job on getting them ready for the game. 14 points and several first downs came off of the defense not in place. Terrible.

Yep I recognized that defense. We used to have it in big D. 2 solid years and then the wheels come off. I hope Kippen does a better job then Ryan, hell if he dont die before the season!! That cats old!!

saw enough of him last year to know he isn't the answer. If Yates was better, he would have won the starting position.

............So from what you are saying, New England and Denver need to look for a new quarterback.

Whine all you want. How many drops did the Texans have? I counted 5 with another maybe. That's not good.

Offense puts up 28 points in the NFL, you win most of the time.
Defense gives up 42 points, you win only 6.8% of the time.

FACT: 78% of all percentages are made up on the spot without any provenance.

There are a lot of not so great QB's that have won superbowls.

Bart Starr won 2. He was a great leader, and efficient, but hardly a gifted passer. He won by not making mistakes.
Len Dawson. Not a great QB. Good leader, highly efficient at short range.
Bob Greise won 2. Highly intelligent, but not a GREAT QB.
Jim McMahon. Won by not making too many mistakes.
Phil Simms. YES, PHIL SIMMS won a Superbowl. He was tough and a leader, but hardly a great QB.
                    Jeff Hostetler. A journeyman also-ran.
Mark Rypien. Heck, anyone can win a Superbowl.
Trent Dilfer. What? Does anyone remember he even played? He was aweful.
                    Brad Johnson. Sucked.
                    Eli Manning. Already mentioned.

What did all these sub-par or, perhaps put better, not ELITE, Superbowl winning QB's have in common?

                    GREAT DEFENSE.

I played and coached both sides of the ball. Defense is more important. The Texans defense could not rise to the occasion. Yes, they had injuries, but everyone has injuries.

the NFL has evolved to protect players (garbage). Defense is not the same as when those qb's won their superbowl rings. None of those qb's mentioned could win a superbowl now on any team. the game is now offensive driven. Ref's and stupid rules have ruined the need for a great defense. There needs to emerge a new style of DC for today's rules.

getting rid of half your offensive line didn't help the running game or pass protection that squab needs didn't help either

Ok here is my thinking for you who want to get rid of Shaub....I was thinking the same thing about Freeman when he had his back to back horrible games.

Who can you get next season better than Shaub????? Nobody......Question answered.....You have to keep him.
