So my brother and I were sitting in a deerstand today hog/coyote hunting. We were lookin at some deer at the feeder when he points out that there is a big bobcat off to the left of the blind. I mean this thing snuck up on us without breaking a twig. It was dark, almost black and one of the biggest ones I've ever seen. Anyways, I shoulder up the 6.8 due to it being loaded and the closest to me. I take a minute to breathe and get my heart rate down. Then I line up the shot perfectly, crosshairs on his neck. I hold my breath and squeeze the trigger and..... "click". I quickly pull back the charging handle to chamber a fresh bullet and as soon as the ejected one hits the floor of the blind, the cat is gone. This would have been a beautiful wall hanger. Had I loaded up the .22 mag he would be at the taxidermist now. I think it might have been a blessing that I misfired as I probably would have ruined the pelt with the 6.8. I'm kind of glad that beautiful animal walked away...

Whether fishing or hunting, I think it really shows a lot of maturity that you can appreciate the one that got away. That took me a while to cultivate. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
