  • The days before Christmas

I always look forward to the holidays and it seems every year I am able to find some Christmas trout. I have some pics a few years ago where I have a limit of trout (all over 20") and I'm wearing slacks headed to the family get together.

This year has been no different so far. Me and a good buddy caught 16 solid fish Saturday morning with no water in the bay. They were holding in a gut over mud in upper Galveston bay. Assassins in a variety of colors did the trick.

Went back this morning and found them again. We had a few real solid fish today. I'm headed back on a solo mission in the morning to try and do it once more. Wish me luck.

I stuck a few this morning before the front rolled through. I got soaked on the way back to the boat ramp but it was worth it.

It wasn't all that bad early but by 9am there were rollers coming across the bay. Made for a wet ride back in my little sled.
