Unfortunately this is what I do for a living at the present time. The good news is, our soil right now is not bone dry, so an auger will work, but yesterday my brother had to stand on the auger attachment on the tractor while I kept the power head level. If you want to rent one, the best machine is a little beaver. It can be operated by one person, and it has a stabilizer bar on it so you don't kill your back. If you need help, I may be available this weekend. I prefer using standard post hole diggers, I just have more control that way. Make sure you mix the concrete as well, if you dry set them, the concrete deteriorates quickly.

Back in the day we could borrow small rentals like the lil beaver 1 man, It is bad ask and will make quick work of the job,Those days are over sorry to say but its available to be rented at most rentals stores around these parts,United Rentals in League City has it for sure! I have no idea what it rents for!!Put it off and lets go drinkin!

Deano ill give you a call tomorrow some time. I'd like to get em dug this weekend some time if possible. If not its no sweat just lemme know -- I think mainland tool has that beaver thing I can rent on sat. Got the concrete bags tarped on the trailer and I don't want em to get damp on me.

I have a couple of 3pt augers with bits 12" 9" 6" and 4", have to work tomorrow, I could drill your holes pretty quick if you can wait until Saturday morning. Nobody will have to stand on the auger either, greenie has enough weight and HP. rs

Got the holes dug with one if those handheld augers from Home Depot. Still need to set posts. Guess that's tomorrow.
