  • Would Appreciate any Help/Advice....

Anyone ever fished the little body of water (Lake?) to the right of 8 mile Rd? I was out there the other day for a little while with no luck but it looked promising. I'm coming from Spring and trying to find a decent wading spot for my monthly 1/2 day trips. I C&R everything and just want to stretch a line. Would really like to catch some reds. Thanks for any help or advice.

go left on sportsman all the way to the end. into the back waters for reds out towards the bay for trout. big area to fish.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

Thanks for the advice Super Spook. I tried that area a couple of times during the summer with no luck. I'm a biggun' (6'7 and 300 lbs.) and ended up in the left marsh right at the end of Sportsmans Rd. I started wading to the right toward that little island and then came around from the back side. Had to literally crawl for 45-50 minutes to get out of the mud. I was sinking past my knees and couldn't stand up without falling. I was never so glad to get back to dry land. Guess I need to try the area again.

Any thoughts about Sweetwater Lake? I waded over to the drain from the Lake going into West Bay and it looked pretty good too. Didn't seem as muddy.

Superspook is the only person I know that can go back in the marsh without sinking to his knees. I swear he's got styrofoam in those wading boots.
