I'm sure Joe Kent would eat this story up and print it Sandy.

Well, it didn't happen at all. That's the attitude from the guys on the bayou. No pic, no catch. I went to get my camera this morning to take a pic of 2 big crabs fighting. Turns out even if I had the camera out there, I left the memory card at home. So even if I had known it was such a big deal, I wouldn't have been able to take a pic, unless I kept it. Then I'd probably go to a Federal penitentiary. Looking all over the net, there hasn't been a catch of one in Texas since the 80's. If I'd have known what a big deal this was, I'd have put it in a live bucket. It was small enough, I could have gotten it to fit. Still no response from the sawfish people.

Ah well, Saints beat the Dirty Birds today, so it's a good weekend.

Cool as heck Sandy. I agree with Brad-get a phone with a camera! I'm glad you released it-probably would have been a fine to save it (alive) even for TPWD. Being a pup sized sawfish, that means it has a mommy and daddy somewhere!! WTG Sandy.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

X2 on mom & pop. Hope I never encounter one wading and shaking it's head on the retrieve after hook-up.

                    Good catch and release!

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm truly LMAO. That is awesome. Dang, I am lookin' good. I need to completely ditch the camera and get Brad to draw me more often.

Mike, that was EXACTLY what it looked like, but about 1/4 the size. The skin was just like a shark's skin.

Awesome. I caught a 15-18 footer in Islamorada last year. My mom got a slightly smaller one the same day. It was definitely a catch of a lifetime. Amazing creatures.
