  • Fishin' Mississippi

    Dad and I went out with one of his old grad students today out of Pass Christian, MS. We hit Cat Island and the wind was brutal with 4-5 foot swells. Found some protected water and had a good time. Lots of rat reds, then a bunch of big white trout. Not a speck to be found. Heading to the La. marshes where I cut my teeth on Thursday/Friday. Should be a good time. This vacation thing is kind of cool.

    Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

        Sorry, I flip flop between La and Tx fishin' boards. Here's your primer:

        Schpottom = Piggy Perch
        Channel Mullet = Whiting
        Lemon Fish = Ling/Cobia
        White Trout = Sand Trout
        Green Trout = Large Mouth Bass
        Loute Garou = Bigfoot
        Sac a Lait = Croppie
        Flat Boat = Flat bottom boat/Jon boat

                Sounds like fun, hope you're having a good time. I am going to see if fishbobr can take a look at the new ride this weekend.

                    I am camera-less right now. My old camera is completely MIA. I'd buy a new one, but I'm sure as soon as I did that, I'd find the old one. It's gotta be at the camp somewhere I think.
