Ok I spoke to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this morning.
So a day is from midnight to midnight and the dailt bag limits fall into those hours.
Possession limit is based on the daily bag limit.
So if we are fishing today and catch limits of flounder / Reds / Trout you are done until midnight tonight. You have to remove the fish from your possession because the Game Warden is checking size and count. You are allowed to put the fish on land, remove them from your boat and a new day starts at 12:01 AM the next day. So your limits are now refreshed.
I asked the folks at TWPD the question a few ways and they said concluded to the same answer. So a new day starts at midnight, but you can not have the fish in your possession and continue fishing.
Hope this helps out.
