There's a lot of redfish tournaments out there, all along the gulf coast and up to north carolina. Me and my tournament partner will be fishing the HT3 Redfish Series next year along with Cabelas and Galveston, Well i know the HT3 is filmed and on a tv show and the ESPN redfish cup used to be a big hit. But why cant the redfish tournaments be filmed and become like BASS tournaments on TV? I personally believe saltwater tournaments should get just as much attention as BASS. I wonder what it would take to get the attention to saltwater like the bass fishermen get??? Any ideas?

More money and geography. Bass fishing is more popular because a lot of the country is land-locked with no access to saltwater, but lakes are everywhere. Redfish are a Gulf Coast - East Coast fish only. Bass are all over the world."GET OFF MY REEF!"

I get the land locked part, but if the gulf coast area could get a little more attention and get it out to those land locked people then that might get them interested in our fishing and get them into taking trips down here. Plus they would be helping out guides, buisnesses around the gulf coast and what not.....and if that doesnt work, we say screw it and stock sam rayburn, falcon, livingston and all the other lakes with redfish haha, like the did that lake in san antonio!Courage is being scared to death... and saddling up anyway.

Been there done that it ain't gonna happen, it's not the same, not even close. If you have never been to a Bassmasters tournament I suggest you do so and then and only then you will understand why.Originally posted by RedfishAssassin View PostI get the land locked part, but if the gulf coast area could get a little more attention and get it out to those land locked people then that might get them interested in our fishing and get them into taking trips down here. I have fished them all, FLW on Fox Sports and the Redfish Cup on ESPN. If those two networks can't make it happen then it never will. First of all, as was mentioned ealier, there are not enough supporter's/anglers in the saltwater community to support it. And like Kenny mentioned, Bass tournaments can be held in dang near every State in the Country. Salwater your limited, you can only have so many tournaments in Port Aransas Texas or Punta Gorda Florida. You watching and fishing the same thing over and over because even though there is plenty of coast line there are very few venues that can support a large tournament and draw the crowds they need to survive. Good luck with the HT3, it seems to be a well run series and I hope he can keep it going for those that still have that desire to compete. Gater
