I had been waiting for this day for a long time. They day my oldest boy was old enought and mature enough to join me on the water. Ive taken him plenty of times to fish on small ponds and lakes. And hes caught lots of trout under the lights from a pier but never from a kayak. I decided to take him to a calm little bay looking for flounder. I put him in the yak and tied it to me while I waded next to him. I put a shrimp in his pole and let him cast out. Almost immediately his rod bends over and almost comes out of his little hands. I let him fight the fish by himself until its close enough for me to grab. Its a rat red but that sucker put a heck of a fight especially on his little rod. We never find any flounder but had a blast catching rat reds and sand trout. Looks like ill be shopping for a bigger kayak soon. Something that can fit both of us.
