  • Idle boat - getting back in the game!

This time last year I was living large and a fishing fool, boxing good fish from Rockport to Sabine Lake. Then in September I start feeling not so right and in the first week of October I am diagnosed with APL leukemia.

God awful stuff almost killed me, but I am in full remission now and getting my strength back. Ready now to start taking my boat out. The boat has been sitting all this time and I'm wondering about the fuel being bad.

Is there an easy and inexpensive way to pull that out or should I let a pro do it? If so, who do you suggest?

    TIA,

    Bill

I am glad to hear you are in full remission and getting back to fishing. Rock on buddy!!!!!

Get that gas out of there. You don't want that stuff running through the motor. If you have the means, get a pro to do it. Have them check everything fuel related and make sure it is rated for this bullsh!t E10.

Glad to hear you're in remission, thats baaad stuff, Wild Bill. What is this sea foam and where do ya get it? FYI, I had the same gas in my boat fr 3 years. Gas too expensive/I'm too cheap to pull out & refuel, so I put some Stabil in it. Seems like it did the trick, cause I've only added gas twice since May...

Thanks! I am actually a Sea Foam believer and will be sure to use it.

Although I think it would be easy to pull the fuel line, extend it over the side to a container and get a siphon going, probably not the best idea to be exposed to fuel. I've not need a mechanic since moving down here to Missouri City. Any suggestions on a reputable shop near me that could drain the tank and give the boat a once over?
