  • Hydro tilt/trim issues

I took my boat out tonight, when I trimmed it all the way up when I decided to gig. After I pushed my line and tried to tilt it back down the hydro motor runs but the boat motor doesn't move. What will cause that to happen?

It's a 1979 evinrude. I've never had a problem with the actual motor it's always something like the steering cable locking up or the starter solenoid under the console will go out.

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when trying to tilt the motor down but, when I tilt the motor up. The hydro motor sounded like it was gargling.

Tilit it all the way up, put its lock down - and fill it with some tilt and trim fluid -

You have a small seal leak - next time your in the shop have them fix it - it wont get any better, and you might fix it cheap know, but if you wait to long it might cost more
