Need Some Advice ASAP on a new boat

Agree...I have the skeeter zx22bayT...I fish the jetties, west bay, and can get skinny in drum...shop around...and take your time!!!

I am not worried about fishing the jettys. I can run with G340 for that. I just want to be able to get across the open bay to the flats without losing my teeth.

I am not going to let a good deal pass me by. I am running it sat and will decide from there, but I am used to the Gulfcoast boat and love it. Maybe I will just get a new one of those.

I'm new here but my buddy in POC has a 23' shoalwater cat, and that is the smoothest and the most dry boat ride. It can also run skinny. Also handles the chop very well

I've had the super shallow flats boat and I won't have another
I think my sac is a few inches lower from my shoal water.my next bay boat will be a hay ie but either a Bigfoot or the vx 21.they both run shallow enough for all the shallow west bays and have enough v to cut the chop.

On a second note, I would not buy ANY boat that I have not test drove.. Period

If more people would listen to this advice, our friendly mechanics would have a lot less business. Sage advice for sure.

I would not buy a merc-this is from a merc owner (actually own two). I find them cheaply made-some critical parts are cheap plastic. Get a yammie and ya can't go wrong. Been on the Haynie's, nice boat but I agree with Kenny-boat de jour this year. Personally, I'd get Express89's buddy's rig.

Haynie is the boat de jour! it's just another over-hyped, over priced flats boat. IMO

......saw a nicely rigged Gulfcoast this evening when I was down looking at the water and think it ought to fit the bill. Good all around hull design that as you mentioned won't cost you a bill or two at the Dentist after a weekend on the water.

Ahhh, I got a quote today for a 2013 model, just can't decide what to do. I am going to run the haynie (maybe tomorrow) and if I like it, gonna get it..

Evan's used to own one and gave me the green light on it, so I will see after the test run. Gonna drive it like I stole it first...
