  • Destin report & pics

    Here is the long report.
We spent most of our time eating or on the beach. 2 of Tina's aunts made the trip and cooked almost all day every day. The food was Awesome. 1 day Tina's uncle came in and brought fish for Sushi. That was glorious feast.
We took a trip to Pensacola to visit some of Tina's relatives. We went Clam Digging and ended up with a 5 gallon bucket full of BIG clams. The kids caught over 100 Hermit crabs.
I fished for an hour one morning in the surf and caught a bunch of ladyfish on top while everyone else was standing on the beach chunking meat at em'. One guy came over when I was walking out and said "aren't you afraid of them sharks". I asked where he was from....."Ohio". I saw one big sting ray when i rented a yak and paddled out a few hundred yard to the end of the sandbar. She was about 3'-4' across. On the last night, we took Cameron down to an area off of the Ship Channel to release the hermit crabs at 10:30pm. I decided to grab a rod when we got out of the car, but didn't take and other tackle, just the Bone SS Jr. 2nd cast I hooked up and thought it was a small red, but no.....Hardhead. A few casts later I had a huge blowup that missed and the girls were ready to go.
Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Looks like y'all had a great time, thanks for sharing the pics.

Too bad you didn't get more fishing in.

I heard they catch a lot of Grouper/sharks/snapper about a mile offshore. Next time I may charter a trip since the big water is so close.

Great looking and family and that was a heck of a spread of food. If you ever go back to Pensacola you can catch black snapper under the bridge going into town from Alabama. My dad's side of family is from Pensacola and my grandpa used to take me fishing there when I was little

Haha, yeah I noticed that. Never seen that one either. They must distill free-range potatoes. Can't taste any worse I imagine.
