Destin Vacation question..???

Destin Beach

Destin Beach is great for the family. I did not see many fish caught on the beach front. The locals use these plugs and site fish the surf. They were the only ones that caught a couple fish. Great place to get away. Be prepared, nothings cheap around Destin!

Navarre is like 20 minutes away. They have good fishing, even off the big arse pier. I was there the first week of August last year. Caught a king off the pier.

I have taken my gear to Destin and down to Cape San Blas on family summer vaca's many years ago and fished. The back bays are great places to fish in both locations. In Destin I rented a pontoon boat and took the family and friends joy riding on the bay. We pulled up to a sandbar near the ICW and let kids play in the water. I took the opportunity to wade the bay back there- lots of grass and caught several specks- dinks really but fun. Lot of grass and very clear water. Saw several rays. Boat fishing back there ought to be very good too. Good luck!

I caught a bunch of ladyfish in the surf on tops a couple of years ago. It was fun.
