  • Seafood place recommendations?

The extended family wants to do a laid back lunch at a seafood place weekend after next.

Top Water Grill is no bueno.

Any recommendations on an informal laid back good to eat place in the general Clear Lake area?
    Kemah waterfront is out.

    Thanks

Outriggers across the channel in Kemah. The food is good and you get to see lots of boats coming in from the bay. It is not part of Kemah, so it is not as crazy. They usually have a band downstairs and some swings, you can kick back and relax.

I second this place...They mesquite grill their oysters in the shell and serve them hot off the grill. When they arrive at the table, they are topped with a butter sauce and parmesan cheese an you can get them topped with shrimp. Awesome!! The beer is ice cold.

Oh, They also have "Fried Bologna Sandwiches"....

Cliftons or Gilhoollies. No Fertita places at all.

Good thread as all our favorite places are still out of business. Top Water was one of our favorites. We were never big fans of the food a Cliftons, or at least my wife wasn't and she is the one that counts.

Outriggers is my favorite. I usually go by boat and sit outside watching all the nice scenery go by. I like Gillhoolies aswell.

                          MP,
Gilhooleys is behind Wyano's bar if you know where that is. Its on the same road that Top water is on, just on the opposire side of the penisula.

The San Leon BLT is good but the standard BLT is the best I've ever had, also "Hoe Cakes" are good for breakfast. The raw oysters are large and local and will only set you back about $5.50, this place is wat San Leon is all about but be warned, no children under 18 allowed.
