Sat-7-7-12 Report

Hit it Sat morning 7-7 with my good friend Dwayne Rushing... aka (Fed) cuz he's Cornfed.!!
He's an old highschool hunting buddy...
Left out of Galveston Bait & Tackle a little late but oh well...too many cold ones the night before...!!
No shrimp.. only "Piggy Perch"..so I said ..ok...The guy there told me he liked them better than Croaks...
Well..we ran through 4 dozen fairly easily & these little guys are TOUGH....very lively...
We were free-lining them and... Wham..Wham..Wham...!!!
I will NEVER have another croaker in my boat when fishing live bait....
Ended the day with 15 total...(5) nice Specs 19"-23" & the rest were nice Sandies...
Fished the edges of these new Retention pond areas to the right of the Tx City Dike..
Water was in good shape & we caught fish up until 2:00 pm...we released many undersized Specs..
Just a Great day on the water with an old friend..!!
Back at the Tiki Island house by 3:00 with Fish Tacos & cold beer by 5:00.!!!

He wanted to throw Live bait so we did....& we did better than I expected...
It was my 1st time with Piggy Perch...
Would like to try the Jettys with these someday..

Get a Piggy trap & bait it with cat food. They are great offshore bait! I call 'em Ling candy.
