  • Tongue eating parasite (cymothoa exigua) in bait fish from Jamaica Beach

New to gulf fishing and recently bought croaker from a bait shop in Jamaica Beach and every one of them were infected with the tongue eating parasite (cymothoa exigua). I've never seen these before so had to look them up on the internet. Can't find any reference to Gulf of Mexico problems with these parasites so just curious whether this is a relatively new problem or have they always existed here?

I've run across them occasionally in croaker for as long as i can remember. Not so much in reds or trout.
    Shut up and FISH!!

Huh? Is it covered by ObamaCare?
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
