West Bay Conditions?

what's up west-enders. you guys have any intel on the bay & surf near slp? is the south wind churning up some brown waters? this past saturday water was crystal clear until 5P when the wind picked up.

Looks like crap!!!! Surf is rough and muddy and the bay don't look much better.

South wind @ 10-15 will rip the bay into a yahoo....fish the back end of coves, and cold pass will usually hold a decent amount of fishable water.If your fishing the sandy water in the bay or the gut's behind San Luis Pass try a 51MRCF or a 51MRCH11,or a 51MR11FGO in Mirrorlure these have always paid off for me in the sandy water, they will also work the same colors in a catch 5 as well.For the Catch 5 the S25MREC or the S25MR11 will work in sandy water.Or yor might try a green worm...seems to always get me a few.Good Luck

I tell you though its been a very tough bite for me the last few days though. I have been on the water the last 5 out of 6 days and we have struggled big time! Full moon, weak tides, and honking wind has been rough on me. Hopefully we can get it turn around tomorrow. we got one more day to find some fish for the cup on Saturday.

Well if the person I know is telling it straight and fishing with your group for the cup your screwed! Nothing but bad luck follows that guy.

I've been catching some quality trout 4#-6#s this week. Dark plastics, mainly roach paddle tails, worked vigorously have been the ticket.
Early afternoons have been the best bite.

Fishing has been a bit tough this past week. We were in EMB yesterday and we only had four bites all day. Most of that bay is chocolate milk.
