  • Camp No Limits

This was sent by a work colleague here at my office. I have donated each year to help her family get to the camp & make sure Ben has a great time. Last year there were photos of Ben playing different sports, kayaking on the water and even a photo of him fishing.

Each year I write a personal check to the website & cut a check from the website account to help Ben have a great summer. So, I like to think of it as we (as a club) helped Ben last year. Check out the link and if your heart feels compelled to donate a few dollars to make sure Ben is able to return to camp again, please do.

    Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, I am involved, through my son, Ben, with an organization called Camp No Limits (CNL). CNL is a small, but wonderful organization that provides camps for kids with limb-loss. These special campers get the opportunity to commune with others like them; to learn from older peers who have gone through the same difficulties they have; and to do things they never thought they could do.

Ben was born with a congenital amputation of his left arm - it ends almost halfway between his shoulder and elbow. My husband and I have tried to instill in him the self-confidence to know that he can achieve anything he sets his mind to, and so far, there hasn’t been anything he hasn’t been able to do. Of course, this doesn’t keep strangers from staring and asking questions. When this happens, Ben just takes it in stride. He tells them, “God just decided I only needed one hand.”

Thanks to the generosity of so many of you, Ben and the rest of our family were able to attend Camp No Limits in Maine last summer. It was an amazing experience for all of us, but mostly, it gave Ben a new perspective - he realized he’s not as different as he thought he was. There are lots of people out there just like him!

This year, Ben wants to go to the Florida camp in November. Among other great experiences, the kids will get to meet Winter, the dolphin from the movie A Dolphin Tale. We've heard great things about this camp, and we can't wait meet some new people!

I hope you’ll consider donating to this first-class organization. Ben and hundreds of kids like him benefit so much from the program. Your donation will help even more kids experience this life-changing camp.

This year, it’s easier than ever to donate. I’ve created a web-page on a site called First Giving.org. Just click on the link below, then click the green “Donate” button to make your donation by credit card.

Camp No Limits is charged a fee for using this website (about 7.5% of the total donations). You can choose to pay the fee or not, it’s up to you. Or if you’d rather not donate that way, you can write a check, and I’ll send it in for you. Just make the check payable to Camp No Limits.

Thank you all so much for any support you can give.

    Sincerely,

    Angela W. Gonzalez
