Only thang I know to do is run into the marsh and throw yourself into a low spot and hope there's no gaters. Gotta get away from your fish camp because of the flying splinters.

Then the tornado will miss ya and you can return to camp looking like the Nancy from the Black Lagoon.

In November 1971 we lost a house on Mud Cut to a tornado. We found the walls and matteress's about 1/4 mile in the marsh toward SLP from the cut. The only thing left was some pilings, the outdoor potty and the pier. There was a sunken houseboat 1/2 beached on the opposite bank that landed upside down on the bank on our side of the cut.. That houseboat was 1/2 full of water but the tornado didn't care. It picked it up anyway. I still have some pictures but don't have a way to post them. We started that house in April finished it in July and lost it in November. We built a second house the next year and it lasted until 1983 when Alica took it down.
