I just can't get into braid....doesn't feel "right". Some of my friends swear by it, but I never could get on board.

braid isn't for everyone. I think its the best thing since sliced bread and I couldn't fish without it.

Plain old 14lb STREN original. Economical and never had a single issue.

Over the years Berkley Big game, and more recently Fins Braided lines they dont stack on the spool as some other cheaper braids do under hard fish play! You cant go wrong with any of the recomendations put forth on this post and everybody has likes and dislikes try one and you be the judge!

I've been throwing 12lb. Stren original(clear) for as long as I can remember. No issues whatsoever. It's all personal preference, just like every other piece of fishing equiptment you use.

Like FLAPPER stated, its all personal preference. Try different types when you can.

Early in my young fishing career, I was a 12# Big Game kind of guy. Castaway300 forced braid down my throut and now I am hooked on it.

The other day, I picked up some P-Line and I was very impressed with how well it cast.....smooooooth

Its choice is Berkley Vanish - New Fluorocarbon line tougher than mono fillament & almost Invisible in the water! Is their choiceBUT they say its Stiffer making it harder to use on some reels. Look for abrasion resistant lines with superior casting ability! Good Luck!

I rolled through corndogs avatar and forgot what the thread was all about! Oh, now I remember, what type of momo do you use.
I strictly use braid and will not switch back to mono. Before the switch to braid I strictly used Berkley Big game in the 12# test.
Whatever brand you choose I would not recomend anything heavier than 12# test.

Just spooled my wife's new curado with Berkley fireline 20lb braid, seems like an awful stiff line. I use power pro braid personally, I'll stick to that.
