  • A final goodbye to VJER Vic this Sunday.

This Sunday, Father's Day and the day before his birthday, we'll be having the bayou memorial for Vic. All who knew him are welcome to come out and remember him in the place he loved so much. Hooked Up on 2cool made a large cross that we'll be installing under the generator shed that Vic built. Finally we'll all go out on the dock and put Vic in his final resting place. We're hoping to get everyone out there by 10am. We are aware that it will get hot later in the day, so the morning was the best time to do it all. Plenty of boats to ferry people out. Backlasher will be leading us in prayer and Vic's family will all be there. Be at the SLP ramp at 10am for a ferry ride.

If you bring your own boat, please do not tie up to the dock. You can disembark any passengers at the front of the dock, but we need to leave the outside of the dock open for my boat as I'm bringing out some passengers that will need to walk up the bank to the steps. Tie off to the mooring poles next to my boat and climb over my boat and or the other boats to get to the dock. I hope all that makes sense. Once my boat is there, You can tie up behind it or next to it or wherever.

If you knew and loved Vic, and you can make it. We'd like to have you.

The question has been posed about food at the event. Most folks will not be staying too long, so just bring your own snacks and beverages. If anyone wants to stay late for the sunset, I'll do a crab boil Sunday evening.

I'm going to try to be at the ramp around 8:30am or so. When you get down there Mike give me a shout, I should be close by.

I wanted to thank everyone here who was able to get out here today. It was really special. Vic is now here with us at Blockade Runners, and he'll be here with us each time we come out.

Even under the circumstances of why we were there it turned out to be a fun and great day for sure.

Hey y'all, I'm missing my Costa Del Mar sunglasses. Please let me know if you picked them up accidentally. They are tortoise shell with green mirror lenses and they have blue croakies attached. I could have misplaced them, but I've looked everywhere.
