Tuning up some reels...need bearing advice

Yep, the FrankenMettle is quickly becoming a hit. For around $100 you can get a supertuned reel that could possibly compete with the name brands.

I've heard good things about bocas. I've never tried them because my shimano bearings never fail me.

100% true. That's one thing I failed to mention. Anything that isn't generic like a bearing, washer, handle or nut can't be replaced.

Take them back to Academy as they will replace them for free now.

I'm going to go buy a couple for parts reels. So when Academy doesn't have them anymore let me know and I'll have my secret stash ready.
