We tossed out the crab traps Friday close to Sea Isle and caught loads of crabs, but 95% were females. Do they travel in sexes early in the summer or something?
    .
I know you can keep them if they don't have the sponge, but prefer to leave them to make more.

    Just curious

Its against the law to keep them if they have the sponge. Seems like this time of year the sponged females are more prevalent. Dont know why, maybe just their time to mate.

Crabs are lots of fun for the kids to look at, what size.
