Does anyone out there know what the CCA releasing process of these tags reds is? Do they release the day of or night before, week before? Im sure they are at top secret locations but I was just curious as to how they do it.

There was a guy on the outdoor show with Capt. Mickey this morning from CCA who said they are releasing 60 tagged reds TODAY!

Generally 2 -3 days prior to Sat.

I know they do some from boat .... and in popular spots

So yoru not likley to find one in some back lake of the marsh that is hard to get to ...

San Luis Pass, Galveston Cause way, TX City dike are examples of spots that they are caught ...

My guess is they don't travel far from where they are released ....

Don't even think it trust me I've thought this all through lol. Reds are highly migratory so one day those little guys will be in one area and the next miles away. I've caught the same exact redfish in two different spots on opposite ends of the area I fished in the fall on back to back days unless he just happened to have three holes under his chin the size of a super spook lol.
I set my hook like I am fishing for tuna even if I am fishing for trout. Call me tuna Joe!

these are not pond raised fish they release. they are caught in freeport at the dow canal.
