  • To eat or not to eat?

There are a few large sharks that has been cruising an area I have been wading. Im gonna go catch one next time I am in that area and am having a rough day for other species. I have eaten shark before and it was great but it was fairly small(still legal size of course) I almost always release my catch but I am considering keeping him for some steaks. I have heard alot of times that larger fish in some species taste worse, being that I rarely keep anything I wouldn't know. So are larger sharks as tasty?

Black tip's are great , filet them out then cut the filets in half and steak them out and throw them on the grill , good eats
I dont always drink beer, but when i do , I prefer to be fishing !!!!!

I have never tried bull shark, or heard of anyone eating them. I have had blacktip and sharpnose and they were great. I'm sure it is good, just bleed it, gut, and get on ice like any shark.

Remember the size limit for bulls is 64". The only sharks that are 2' now are sharpnose, blacktip, and bonnet head. A 64" shark is a lot of shark meat.

Kill it and eat it. Cut the skin off also and any bloodline along the skin-sharks don't have bladders-they excrete urine through their skin, so get rid of the skin to get the ammonia stink away. Of course bleed em and gut em immediately after catching it.

Brad: Why would a Bull Shark be nastier than a blacktip or an Atlantic Sharpnose? Just curious.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. I know for a fact bull shark doesn't taste good. I'll keep a blacktip any day, any size above 24". Best way to prep them is get it in quick, cut thru the tail off and let that thing bleed out. Gut it and pack it on ice. Black tip taste great any way you prepare it. Bull sharks are fun for catch and release but they are becoming a pain in the arse. Them and dolphins.

Looks like it will live to die another day! I have seen a few of them but I have only seen one of them really well...It was around 7 foot. Im hesitant to kill it and have all that meat if it is just gonna taste awful. If I nab a blacktip its coming home! I love blacktip but didn't know about those bulls. All good info and if I get one I intend on keeping yal provided good info on how to keep em good...Thanks!
