        Ray,
what a great summary on how to approach life. Too many of us get caught up in the finer details and need to wake up to what's important. This doesn't mean that you don't plan or that you ignore something, but you enjoy life on a day by day basis. Your analogy on retirement is so true..... Too many live for their retirement only to not be able to enjoy it. Don't forget the "now" when planning for the "then". I don't know if my homeowners association is going to like this, but I think I'm going to have a pink house soon.
I'm sorry to hear about your buddy and his family's loss. Sounds like a guy who would have wanted a party to be thrown for his wake.

I'm going to celebrate his life tomorrow!! Weird thing is the guy I had lunch with Friday was in an horrible motorcycle accident Sunday. Two broken legs,One broken arm, broken collar bone, punctured lung, and three broken vertabraes. No spinal or brain damage. Man you just never know. Also my boss had his dad pass under hospice care sunday. Then just before I left work I found out one of the kids that works for my friend and does service work for us had the plug pulled on him.He had been fighting stomach cancer age of 26.
          Bacon Bacon Bacon!!!

                  Corndog,

                  Very well written tribute.

I've never met you, from what I've read in your post you are funny, smart, a thinker and most of all caring.

To many people are chasing this or chasing that and too busy to enjoy life whatever ever it may be.

I learned this from my grandpa*(PAW CORN). He lived in a pink house his whole adult life (60 plus years). He was a soft spoken man and once told me I dont care what color this house is as long as " momma happy". I never forgot that advice. Don't sweat the small stuff. Be a man and do what makes them happy (Momma Happy!!)
