I've been holding this back since last week. I lost a good friend last week to Leukemia! He was one of my oilfield buddies that I met over the years. I had known him for a long time but had become closer friends with him over the last few years. I had text him Thursday night only to find out he had left us Thursday morning. We started really getting to know each other at the annual AADE fising tournaments. Last few years we fished together in that tourney and several Oilfield Helping Hands events. He told me a few years or so ago he really like me hanging out with him becuase I didnt kiss anyones arse, told it how it was and liked to have fun. I remember that and remember that was why I like hanging out with him.
My friend had all kinds of vendors taking him everywhere all the time on big time stuff.I took him fishing last year 4th of July. We killed the trout and had a blast. We tried to get together over the next few months and then in November he found out he had cancer. He spent 4 months in isolation and then isolation at his house. He was scheduled for bone marrow transplant this month. At some point with the pain and suffering he decided to do something else.
He will be missed be all his family, friends and me. Its just something that hits home and makes you really look at who you are and what life is about. When you see someone that you think is out of control or crazy. Please take a second to think do you really know what that person is going thru, Maybe a kind word or jester can be the difference to them. Life aint easy and it aint fair. Dont sweat the small stuff it aint that important. If you wife wants a pink house paint it pink for her. If your kid brings home a B or C dont sweat it engourage them they aint killed no body.
I know at times life can place a burden on our shoulders and all the probelms seem overwelming but just stop and remember you dont have a problem. People that have cancer have a PROBLEM. People that are at Shriners hospital have a PROBLEM. People that have to bury their love ones have a PROBLEM. Our wounded warrors have to deal with a PROBLEM.. You and I just have issues and pain in the arses. They are very trivial to what people that have Problems have to deal with.
Having carried on about all this please dont post any " Sorry to hear Corndog or Prayers sent" Not that they dont mean anything(they are appreciated). I'll be OK. But I wrote this hoping to maybe have someone that is going tough times to really evalaute their problems and maybe see that their problems are really not that bad and give them hope or realize they dont have a problem just an issue that may not be as bad as they think.
Hey, my buddy would not want us hanging our head over him and I can tell you one thing he lived his life.He was an outdoorsman,a great fisherman and hunter. He traveled all over the world and live at "Full Throttle". He took no prisoner and was a real bad arse. All I have to ask you is " Are you really living your life to its full potential? Or are you saving it up or retirement? If you are saving it or retirement I hope you get there. If not you better start living.
I'll end this with a few of my favorite qoutes
" Get busy living or get busy dying!!!!"
" You cant stop me!!"
" If it doesn't smell like chili it probably isn't!"
I hope y'all enjoyed the read Im gonna have a cold one and go fish this weekend " Screw cutting the grass I got a life to live"
