  • Fishin advice needed

Will be spending next week on the Island want to fish west bay and slp area any advice on where and what to
throw. Fishing from 18 ft flat bottom not familiar with west bay so will probably stick to drifting the shoreline.
Also looking for a spot to set up my lights other than the pass itself all advice is appreciated

Pick up a Hot Spots map that details SLP area. That may be the cheapest way...and be careful in the SLP area as that area has bars all over the place...

I would try Greens lake, Greens cut, Confederates reef, railroad side of causeway, Offatts bayou(by the airport), Galveston Island State Park, and Carancahua Reef.

The hottest spot in West Galveston right now is the 8 mile rd/Sportsman's rd area. It's easy access, and loaded with bait holding structure.

I can't say anything good about the fishin' under the lights in Titlum lately. It's been pretty poor pickins, even with live bait. I'll be happy to run you around the SLP area while I'm there, but I'll be pretty busy Saturday. Sunday will be my only day for play, and it looks like the weather will be best then anyway. Can't wait to see the Gray Ghost again! I hope I get to see y'all.

X2- Tran, I planned a trip in that area and hit every bar I could find. The last one closed at 2:00 am and I was pickled past the point of home made ceveche!!! Forgot all about the fishing..

Jamaica Beach or Sea Isle-but only the public launch at Sea Isle is open to non-residents-the launch in the basin area is chain locked for residents with a key. Watch the wake-forward speed only at Jamaica Beach-not 5 mph-5 mph throws a wake and the local JBPD will ticket ya!!!!

anchor up near a reef, put your ray guards on jump on out, tie on a topwater on and your good to go...
