Sunday Jetty Fishing

So, the plan was to go after a bunch of reds & trout with Reef Drifter, out on his boat
Sunday. This man should be a guide, I sware. He knows the waters there like nobodys
business, there and back. All in all, it was a very fun trip, with my wife and a friend of
his tagging along. Ya'll can ask Sam, my wife caught all the fish, not much mind you, just
a few hard-heads, one croker a whitting and a 3 ft bonnet head shark. Myself all I managed
was a very large sheepshead.
We fished the Bolivar area, took off for the Jetties, then back to the intercostal,
then I was lost. I'm not sure about all where we were, but it was fun, none-the-less.
Musta put 90 miles on his rig, darn fish had us all guessin, "Where the flock are they?"

The timming was off that day, and the weather didn't help any.
When things get right, we plan on comming back down and nailing
some big-uns no matter what the species be.

Thanks Galveston340, I was looking for one to make that real good.
I heard from a friend that, if you cut it up in chunks, steam it, then just
dip in butter, It is similar to the taste of lobster.

I'll look for that recipe, thanks....

I know exactly were your were from the pics were you all free shrimping or only on plastics....?

It was a little of both and shrimp under a cork nabbed that sheepie. The Smacks were hittin also, we counted two, that
bit Sams line just at the cork, bit him off twice the rotten beggars.....It was more like Combat fishing, they'd hit and
run, spit the hook just as ya try to set it....Either we're getting slower, or they're getting smarter....darn fish anyway.....lol

Yeah, that's right he did. Not a snag either, or tail hook. Darn thing actually BIT the swim-bait. I have never
seen that either, on squid yes, but not a soft plastic....Weirder things have happened I guess !!!

Awesome meeting you both, we had a blast. When the weather/water stabilizes, we'll be slayin-em

Hey Bro, thanks, it was great to meet you also. We had fun out there, minus the darn wind.
Like you both said, "Once the patterns are more stable", like Weather/Temp & Clarity, the
bite will be on big time. You guy's will be hitin-em well before we can git down that way again.
We are already working on it, we're thinking about a 3 day, fri-sat-sun. This way, we hopt to
get one good day where we are just killin em.....with zero Ray's & Smacks ......rotten beggars anyway....LOL
