Galveston surf

Took a ride this morning to check the surf between the groins and it's looking better. Water clarity is decent and wave action subsiding a bit. Seaweed seems to be slacking up a bit also about half of what is was 3-4 days ago. Was catching good numbers of quality fish a couple weeks ago but with big winds and rough waters of late I've been in no mood to get beat up. Hope conditions keep improving I know the fish are there.

Yeah, it looks like it was nice early on and the wind picked back up. Next two days are forecasted to be calm so that might be the ticket.

Why are the shrimp boats so close? I did not think they could come in so close. There were right off the tips of the rock groins!

They were a little farther out this morning. Must be on the brown shrimp. No bad intent but maybe they can catch more seaweed than me.

The weed lines in the ship channel and just offshore were thick yesterday.

I saw thick weed on the wall today. In areas with less weed, the water looked good

It was quiet this evening, but there were still huge rafts of sargassum.

We ran into that stuff this past Sunday, out on the north jetty. It was thick on the inside,
but not so much outside. Figures that Sam wanted to fish the inside & we couldn't....
