  • Rod Repair???

I have a rod that snapped a foot from the tip and was wondering if its possible to repair??? I usually just get a new one but this one has major sentimental value. So it doesn't matter whether it's cost effective. If it's possible I would like to get it done. Does anyone know a place that does that?If it is even possible

No it can't be repaired, at least not to the original length. It could be made into a short medium heavy for jigging up big Tripletail's, and Mangrove Snapper offshore.

That would be better than trashing it for sure.

There are some repair guys who will put a ferrule on it but the action will never be the same.

As Kenny suggested put a new tip and presto you have a little heavier action rod.

Bet that ain't too pretty! LOL

Dont see why a ferrule would not work, they use them on fly rods to make them 4 pieces without loosing any action in them.

Your best bet is what Kenny suggested. You can take it to FTU and they will get you fixed up.
