Not really. The constitution provides a framework in which we follow in the US. While it isn't perfect, what framework isn't? The deficiency lies not in the constitution but people who take advantage of it and get whatever laws that are beneficial to us are wrapped up in bureaucratic red tape.Resident Ninja

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. It's an inspired document written by (at least the outline) by Thomas Jefferson. Other authors include James Madison, Thomas Paine, and John Adams, under the direction of George Washington. Adams should be credited with getting it done and ratified."GET OFF MY REEF!"

Ancestry.com shows John Adams to be a relative of mine through my Mother who was an Adams. All this time, I had been told I came from a long line of horse thiefs and pure, un-adulterated white trash and now i know better,,,,i think.
And people fork with me about a little noise?

Ancestory.com shows me related to Daniel Boone through his sister...Sarah Boone who married Daniel Wilcoxson. She was Amish and he wasn't...i think he knocked her up and they banished her outta the Amish group in Pennsylvania, then they ended up in Kentucky. Crazy *** ancestors!Don't be a Nancy!
If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

Jefferson had almost nothing to do with it. He was in France during the Convention of 1787. James Madison is known as the "Father of the Constitution." Our greatest problem as a nation right now is that people in both political parties have never read it, and don't follow it. Many would wipe their bottoms with it rather than read it. One party is much more guilty than the other, but neither has clean hands here.
What makes our Constitution such a wonderful framework, is that it is a living document. THE PEOPLE can change it as times change, through the Amendment process. Most politicians these days would rather ignore it.From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Sorry, it's just a fact. You're confusing it with the Declaration of Independence (1776), which was principally written by Jefferson. James Madison was the principal author of the Constitution (1787). I just finished a book called Miracle in Philadelphia . . . and I gots a Tulane edumacation and I teaches this stuff every day.
Thomas Jefferson was serving as Minister to France at the time. He did not sign the Constitution, nor was he a delegate. Trust me, in no history book anywhere does it say he had a hand in the Constitution. He did have minimal correspondence with some delegates, but you know how slow the mail was back then. Don't feel bad, the 2 documents are often confused.

Go ahead and read the "Federalist Papers." Then get back here and tell us why anyone would find The Constitution useless.
This comment is not directed at anyone here. Just bugs me that so many people just ignore the literal law of the land. In my humble opinion, the "Federalist Papers" is the second most important document(s) in our nation's history. What Would Hans Wagemueller Do?
