Yep, that was my first thought. An unmanned vessel adrift is the property of the finder...

I have lost mine once, OK I have lost mine twice. I use my power pole and remote trolling motor. Works great. But my problem has always been anticipating the wind. The times I lost mine the wind would pick up and waves would get higher until she floated to deeper water. Sucks watching your boat float past you and you can't get it. Been over a year since last time. Hopefully I am over that, or I am over due?

Epilogue:
Coors Light tastes darn good when really cold, but they are hard to get when your boat has drifted away. Talons at least have an alarm so when you try to start boat while the Talon is down, it goes "beep beep beep"-I call it the Coors Light Alarm. For some folks it should have a voice that says "Hey Dumbazz, your pole is down."

Clark08 and myself saved a guy last year in west whose boat also got away from him while using a PP. It was all operator error in that the guy misjudged how fast his boat would push with the wind. Lifted the PP up with his remote while wading back to the boat and couldn't catch up fast enough. Good thing we were close by to give him a lift.

X2, people that purchase these thing believe thats what they are, an anchor. Even though they may be advertised as a shallow water anchoring system that is not what they were originally designed for. This is not the first time a boat has come loose and won't be the last. GaterOriginally posted by SCHU View PostSeriously? Scary thought to believe that would act as an anchor...Oh well.
