Anyone Else Get Naked To Clean Their Rod?

Fishing rod that is. I read about cleaning fishing rods while taking a shower after a day of fishing. I have been doing it for the past couple of months and my rods look great. Just imagine all the saltwater, fish slime, sweat, Gulp juice, bait slime and who knows what else that gets on the handles during a trip or two.

I do that with my fly rod, the others I wash off with salt terminator.

When ever you want to. You should the grime the comes off the grips.

When I was in high school the coach caught me showering with my Tuba ... I still have nightmares about that. I had tubes, valves, springs, plungers, brushes, and all kinds of stuff taken apart. There I was, nekkid as a jaybird with a big ole grin on my face. The ole boy flipped out and started screaming! Thought he was gonna take a swing at me, he was so furious. Oh man, let's not go there ....

I do it all the time . Get the water nice and warm , get your hand good and lathered up . The combination of the soap and the warm water make for a clean rod. It only takes a few strokes to get the job done.
