Ok I know some of you guys here have fished with a speck rig. Do you still fish them and do you fish them with a popping cork or just cast them out and work them back in. I have used them for white bass fishing before but I don't know when to use them for trout. Just wondering?

I use them for chicken dolphin. They also sometimes work in the lights and always under birds."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. probably 90 percent of the fish I've caught in my life came on what used to be called "Shad Rigs" now the Boone company no longer makes them, but I see them called redfish rigs and speck rigs. I prefer the larger ones, but both have their niche. I use them with or without a cork, and with and without scrimps/cut bait. Sometimes they are the only thing that work. If they don't work, I use cocohoes in the same tandem formation. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

I used them a lot back in the 70"s around the old Mecom's pier in the surf over near High Island. caught a lot of trout and reds. I fished them with out a cork, just a quick hopping motion and especially if the birds were working. I have also used the 3' curly tail jigs in tandem and they work.
